His question carries a bitter, slightly skeptical edge; some wounds never heal, some traumas can’t be undone, and some things simply can’t be changed. Talia, however, sees it differently…
Because their opposing views play an important role in the story and in their character development, I searched for a suitably extreme dark-fantasy example that could bring this topic to the surface between them. That was around the time I came across @LorianAinDal ’s novel — and I’d like to thank him once again for giving me permission to mention it.
