FRIDAY, 13 JANUARY 2012
Hey guys, updating because I’ve been asked about this so many times. I can’t believe this is my first post after the new year, guess I’ve just had other things to do. I spent Christmas and New year in hospital (surprise surprise) and only recently got out. And yes, I’m well aware I make it sound like I’m in jail, although, if I were in jail I’m pretty sure I’d have better food and more dignity...
So anyway, what am I going to write about today? I guess I’m going to have a bit of a rant about decisions. I mean, first of all, why does it seem that I can’t make my own decisions without other people jumping down my throat over it? I’ve decided that, since I’ve made it past the new year when the doctors said I wouldn’t, I should probably just keep on going as normal. Normal means going back to uni but perhaps not quite being drinking/partying/sporting (is that even a word?) as much. BUT OH NO. Bad idea apparently. Well, here’s an idea, stick to the old proverb (in Yorkshire accent): “if you ant got owt nice to say, don’t say owt at all”.
Secondly, what the hell is up with people having a go at you for making a bad decision when you already know it was a bad decision because it went wrong? For example, this week I was told to rest and not leave the house. Instead of this, I went shopping and bought a t-shirt, jeans and a pair of chinos (a very good buy). When I got home, I ended up being projectile sick all over my living room. Obviously, at this point I’m thinking “oh damn... maybe I should have listen to the doctor” but do people just let acknowledge your error in silence? NOOOO. What’s the point in shouting at me for making the wrong choice? Yeah, I know I did. The huge pile of sick in the living room told me so as it erupted out of my now sore throat -.-
It’s like when you lose something and your parents shout at you over it. I remember once I lost my wallet with my bank card in it and my dad shouted at me over it. Yes, I know it’s bad, I was already upset since now I have no money, no bus pass, no dominoes pizza loyalty card and no free coffee coupons for McDonalds. Sure as hell I’m upset without you shouting at me over it!
I hope this is making the people who actually take the time out to read this smile, but really what I’d like to write about now is my decision to go back to uni. I mean, it’s surprising enough that they’re even allowing me back. I guess it’s going to be hard catching up and stuff, but this time I’ll live at home and travel in, an hour and half isn’t THAT far to drive. I know most people are thinking “what’s the point when your expiry date was actually a few weeks ago?” but I guess it’s hard to understand. I’ve pretty much lost everything I worked towards since being sick, I can’t do much sport without getting ill, I can’t do martial arts (which was pretty much my life), all my friends are at uni, I can’t find a job in something I actually like... I mean really, what is there to get out of bed for if I have nothing to do? What would I write on my blog?
Day one hundred and ninety seven of doing nothing: still doing nothing.
Day one hundred and ninety eight of doing nothing: refer to yesterday’s activities.
I mean, just for YOUR sake, I should DO something, right?
