"the photographer will loosely prepare..." these friggin' descriptions just floor me!i'm not a boob guy.
that said ... once i was able to stop fumbling with my equipment (read: cameras) and focus on salmas face ...
well ...
honestly, they are large. like really fucking large.
'twas hard to focus on her face.
but ... her face is so lovely.
so is she.
we were backstage with robert towne who was showing his movie -- a movie that i can't remember the name -- and i asked her if may make some photographs in b/w.
she was totally into it.
so ... once i got past her obvious attributes ...
i made a few.
that's what's so nice about leica glass ... you really don't need a lot of light to make something interesting.
not only that ... but ... i didn't want a typical photo of her.
she was on a couch in the green room ... i backed up enough for a higher than normal position ...
and made this one.
leica mp. leica apo 75/2.0 summicron aspherical. 1/60th at f/2.0. ilford delta 400 (plus 2 at 1600) for some lovely grain.
this is a scan ... you should see the fibre print ... my God.

I'm glad you focused on her eyes eventually. What a wonderful portrait of her! She looks so real without losing any of her beauty. Maybe being female biases my opinion, but I'm happy to see a portrait of her without her other attributes vieing for attention.

i picture film at the ilford lab.. it gets boxed, shipped, and stocked. one roll ends up in your hands and turns into amazing shots of celebrities while the other ends up in my hands and becomes a wasted roll of celluloid! i feel sorry for the rolls that missed you

I like her too. I met her briefly at the "Wonderland" premiere-after-party 3 years ago and I was wearing a "good bush/bad bush" t-shirt (with a picture of a female "bush" and the US dictator) and she came up to me and said she had the same t-shirt, which I thought was quite funny.
