Description
Bluto's stature grew in importance over the course of the cartoon series, and by the late '40s viewers were clamoring to see his revamped physique spotlighted, with Popeye remanded to an accessory 'chump' supporting role . 1950 saw the debuts the seminal offerings 'BEACH PEACH' and 'QUICK ON THE VIGOR,' which cemented Bluto's position as the undisputed central figure and male bombshell of what were now 'Popeye' cartoons in name only.
