Description I saw =elle-chan 's entry in the works to a contest being held by =ArgoForg , and thought it was wicked! So I went to =ArgoForg 's gallery, and thought THAT was wicked! I saw about the contest in my wanderings, and immediately had an idea pop up... So I thought, what the heck! Here's my entry! I never knew drawing petrified pretties could be so fun!

Anyway, the idea was what would happen if two medusas looked at each other... I thought, wouldn't that suck if they both got petrified? But I suppose they are immune or something, though.

Another time my scanner kicked my picture's butt... I'm trying to learn to fix the images, but... Blech. Maybe I will try taking my pictures to a place where they can be scanned professionally. Ugh, that'll cost money, though. Something I have none of, *lol*. Eh.

Done in Microns and Prismacolor markers.

great job on the graduation of stone to her flesh, that's really cool! The anatomy is great!! And so are the poses, especially the hands and fingers! XD at the sweatdrop from the snake!

Thank you so much, that skin was a pain! I didn't want to mesh well together, *lol*. I'm getting a little better with fingers, for chicks at least. My dudes all have feminine hands, *lol*! And I couldn't let all of my snakes be serious, had to have some pissy ones... Aww

Ahem. I first off wanted to make sure I thanked you for entering the contest, CC! There were a lot of really good entries, including yours, that made judging it really difficult... and that rocks!

.... no pun intended. XD

And now, if I may... *spazzes out* OMG, this is AWESOME!! The composition (even sans BG) is primo. I love the stone effect you got going here, and the look of "Ohhhhh, crap" on both of their faces! The poses are just awesome, too, and *degenerates into mindless babbling, drooling, and flailing* and both costumes and the snake with the sweatdrop is just too sweet! *Goes to fave it, finds out he already has, spazzes more* OMG! I can't contain my excitement!

Seriously, I cannot possibly thank you enough for putting something like this together for my little contest... if you ever get a yen to do something along these lines again, I can pretty much tell you I'll be spazzing all over again. :D (Big Grin)

Thank you so very much! Aww I'm getting the hang of stone-y goodness, and it was so much fun to think up an idea featuring some sort of petrification... I definitely am hooked and wanna draw more! Aww I've got a few ideas brewing at this moment... It's just getting myself to be productive. Wink/Razz (Along with being a fangirl extraordinaire, I'm also a procrastinator extraordinaire! :P (Lick)) I can't tell you how happy I am that this is enjoyed, I went out of my normal colouring and drawing boundaries (mixing the stone to skin to keep it looking fake natural was hard!), with the exception of drawing chicks, *lol*. Next time, I'll aim for a background for sure! ^_^

They *SHOULD* be immune... It's the RPG rule, that a monster absorbs or is immune to what it is/does... Like a fire elemental absorbs fire. But I'm too lazy to read up and find out, *lol*.

That is a rather interesting conundrum. Would Medusa, or any other similar critter, be affected by their own curse? There are some animals that are immune to their own poisons, but how would it work in a magic context?

That said, nice picture.

I would figure the RPG monster rule would go into effect, where if you fight, say, a fire elemental, it is immune to or absorbs fire damage. So I would think that one medusa should not be able to petrify another... But I just thought, hmm, what if. ^_^ (Been playing WAY too much Final Fantasy XII, I have!)
