Under The.. Net? — Description

The druid's life started within the webs.
He doesn't really know what the webs are... they've always been there, since he woke up in the cave. It distressed him at first, they were frightening and caught on his fins when he tried to swim through the gaps. He probably would've been stuck in them still, squeaking and chattering in fear if it wasn't for a school of fish within the web that came to his rescue. It was so very frightening, he couldn't go near the webs after that in fear they'd catch him again. The fish may have helped him but they couldn't exactly speak to explain what this all was, how it was his own fault for swimming into the net.

He learned soon enough though! When he grew bigger, could get himself out of the web without the help of his fish friends.
Yes yes, he knows how good the web is now, its to protect him! That's why it encircles such a big part of the lake floor, right where he was hatched! Obviously whoever put his egg in the cave also wanted him to be extra safe from the scary predators outside since he was hatched alone.

He was safe! It was great, to be so loved and cared for that they decided to put an extra measure to keep him safe and sound.
Oh how he loves the one who decided to keep him safe! Truly, it made him feel warm when he thought of it. To care for someone so much, someone they didn't even know? It made the loneliness all the more tolerable!

Maybe he'll meet them!

He thinks about it a lot actually, there's not much he has to pay attention to so he spends a lot of time thinking of who this mystery folk is! He thinks and chatters his ideas to the fish.
Wondering if they're a big folk, a small one? Colorful or pale or bright? How many eyes and scales would they have, ears and tails? Would they look just like him or nothing at all?
Over thinking on it a lot, the druid does come to more reasonable conclusions on what this stranger who loves him may look like. He has so much time, it's not impossible for him to reach a more solid picture.
If they left him in the cave... to hide him and add more protection, maybe they are small? Not too small? Smaller than the predators, too small to protect him so they had to leave him. Hard to escape with something occupying your claws, he's seen it with the fish the predators catch and eat. Get distracted or too focused on something else and they can get you with their teeth. So of course they were too small and weak to carry him while swimming away. They had to leave him. This small, defenseless folk who may or may not look like him.

Leaving him behind safe means they'd come back for him. Why put so much effort?
Yes... They'd come back.
They loved him, someone cared about him enough for this.

So he'll wait where it's safe.
Where he knows what everything is. What everything is.
It's not scary here, nothing is scarier than what he doesn't know.

It's scary not knowing.

He'll stay in the webs.
