Name: Shinning Aura

Talent: Sorcery. He has spent most of his life conjuring up new spells and also making simple levitation spells he hopes will allow Earth Pony and Pegasus to use.
Occupation: Spell-caster. He basically spends most of his time writing up new spell books and selling them to potential book buyers, as well as sending most of his finished copy's to the School for Gifted Unicorns. He will also occasionally teaches spells to ponies in need of a good teacher.
History:
Shinning Aura was born and raised in Canterlot. At a very young age he expressed a talent in spells. He was able to learn advanced level spells early in school, and his teacher encouraged his parents to send an application to the School for Gifted Unicorns.

His application was excepted, and when he was old enough, started schooling there. Aura was exceedingly good at all the spells that were already taught to him, but he wanted more of a challenge. He wanted to make his own spell, and see what would happen and if it worked.

His first spell ever created was what he called an entity spell. He was able to create a shimmering dragon, though small in size, to his side. His intention of the spell was for self-defense. He had astonished himself when at that moment he earned his cutie mark, a unicorn horn with a blue swirl and sparkles.

With his new found cutie mark he started to experiment more with his new spell, creating different entities that gradually got bigger in size the better he got at it. He was growing bored at school with the repetition of spells already created, and dropped out.

He had outraged his parents who had spent a large sum of their money for him to attend such a prestigious school. In short, they disowned him and forbade him to return home. Aura however, was more then happy. It gave him an excuse to pack up his bags and travel all over Equestria to create more spells and earn money by hosting lessons in towns he stopped in.

On his travels he met a Alicorn. He was different from Luna and Celestia, the Alicorns Shinning was so used to growing up with. Aura was fascinated with him, and his powerful magic skills and begged him to teach him what he knew. The Alicorn excepted, and for three years he tutored Shinning in magic.

After those three long and tiring years, Aura was more powerful in his magic skills. He had learned that magic is what made Equestria, Equestria. He began to question whether other Pony species could use magic. He started to develop a simple levitation spell he hoped a Earth Pony or Pegasus could use in the near future.

His research led him to the quiet town of Ponyville once again to study at Twilight's Library. It was here that he met the bubbly BlackRose, who was more then happy to let the stallion stay at her home while he studied. However she seemed to be more of a distraction as the little mare would shower the poor sod with question ranging from his height, his tail, and his magic research. Shinning wasn't too sure what to make of her at first, but slowly over time he grew feelings for her.

They started dating a few months after he had come to Ponyville. They were happy but Shinning was called to Canterlot's School of Magic to teach a lecture and advance in his research. It required him to leave Ponyville and live in Canterlot for a few months. He wrote constantly to his marefriend about everything, and they were able to keep their relationship intact.

When he returned to Ponyville he could sense that Rose was different. He knew that she was part demon but something was off. It was soon after that he met Rose's Father, the King of Voodoo. Voodoo was none too happy that his daughter was dating some peasant mortal unicorn. He tried time and time again to separate the too but failed every time. Voodoo was at his limit and finally he snapped. Shinning found himself being dragged into the underworld, powerless to save himself.

He awoke in the underworld a few hours later and met DreamCatcher, who was kind enough to tell him there was a spell book in the Grand Library that contained a spell to take him back to the mortal world. While he made the trek with the dream eater he learned from her that Voodoo had asked one of Lucifers seven sons, The prince of Lust, to train Rose and eventually force her to give Voodoo an heir. When he reached the Library he was confronted by the Queen of Succubi, Sins. She told him she'd give him the spell book only if Shinning satisfied her. Shinning reluctantly agreed and to this day has never told Rose what he had to do to get back to her.

Voodoo was none too pleased when Shinning was able to return, and concocted another plan to force Rose to take his throne. He lied to her saying that he was dieing, and that she needed to take his place or the world will perish without a guardian to keep Voodoo magic under control. Rose agreed and parted with Shinning. There was lots of tears and begging from the stallion, but it seemed he could do nothing and watched the love of his life be taken from him.

For almost half a year Shinning had turned into a mess. He had depended so much on Rose to take care of him, and he was so depressed that he refused to take care of himself. He didn't bathe, his house was a mess, and he barley ate. One day Sins decided to see how he was doing, since she had heard that Rose was the new Queen of Voodoo. She was surprised to see him in such a mess, and told Shinning that Voodoo was never dieing.

Shinning realized that his marefriend had been tricked and begged Sins to take him to see her. When he got there he was surprised to see Rose looking so much more mature. She was different and it scared him. But she was just as surprised to see Shinning, and with the help of the Prince of Lust they were able to force King Voodoo back on the throne. Shinning took Rose back with him, and proposed to her.

A few months after their wedding Rose found herself pregnant with their first colt, and gave birth 9 months later to a healthy baby boy, who they named Celestial Swirl. Five years later Rose once again found herself pregnant, this time with twins! Shinning now lives a comfortable life with his wife and three kids, but his hardships are far from over. Voodoo continues to try and force Rose or his Grand kids to take his throne.
