Frog Princess:

Teyanna was given strict instructions, under no circumstances was it permissible to open the contents of the wrapped box. The head mistress at the Kings Bank gave her the orders herself.

Teyanna never did like the head mistress, but times were very tough and she was paid in advance - ten gold coins. The Bank was falling on hard times, issuing increasingly worthless paper currencies like the YurrOh and DollRrr, but the Kings subjects were to remain in the dark about the banks problems, so secrecy was of the utmost importance.
She was to act as a Currier for the parcel and convey the contents to the Kings palace.

Teyanna was to take the southern road through the Forest of Crisis, the name given to scare off intruders and nosy visitor. She should have no problems, she had the special medallion from the King that grants passage to the bearer everywhere in the Kings vast realm.

The Forest of Crisis is rather boring as forests go, all the big game had either hunted down or covered with a think gooey substance from the worst outbreak of Black Plague (BP) ever! She could avoid the areas of contamination fairly easily, she had been through the forest before, on several occasions.

She was ever curious about the contents of the box, she spent hours ruminating about what was in the box. The journey through the forest, so far was quite uneventful, just the odd amphibian or two here and there.

She though about how she could open the box, by carefully untying the knots that held the paper wrapper in place. The wax seal was a problem, but she had the Kings medallion to recreate the seal. She was so excited about the prospect of knowing what was in the box she started to tremble.

She carefully broke the seal, she managed to keep it intact. She had a small satchel that carried her gold coins, so she tucked the red wax seal into a small pouch inside the satchel. She untied the several knots, in a deliberate order, so she could retie them again exactly.

Teyanna placed the rough cord into the satchel as well. She then tackled the wrapping paper, it was somewhat fragile. She started to unfold the ornate paper wrapper, fold by fold. As she completed carefully the unwrapping process, she noticed the paper had some writing on the inside surface.

To eager to see what was inside to bother to read the writing, she turned her attention to the unwrapped parcel.

It was a beveled glass box with a hinged metal frame, with a tiny green frog inside! Teyanna was very angry and annoyed with the disappointing discovery. In a hurry she pulled the paper out of the satchel to re-wrap the useless trinket! A word or two caught her eye on the parchment paper. She didn't read very well, but picked up a few of the more commonly written words.

What she could read was Reward, she had seen many posters with that word, so it piqued her interest to read further. Magic spell something something something Frog something something cursed shape something else two or was that four somethings legged something Warning!

Poof the paper disappeared in a flash! She suddenly felt queasy in her stomach, like when once she jumped into the lake from a bridge. She held onto the box tightly. Her head was spinning around. It seemed like forest was getting bigger and bigger for some reason. Teyanna felt her skin turn cold and clammy, never a good sign. The world seemed to be spinning out of control, she lost her balance and her shoes came flying off as she tumbled to the ground ...

When Teyanna recovered her senses, she felt out of place. She felt a bit wobbly and unsteady. Her feet felt weird and tangled up. Her feet felt like they were made of rubber, it was hard to move them at first. She struggled and struggled and finally managed to move her foot to get a closer look at the problem. She gasped! As her foot was now swollen, misshapen and green!!

What in the name Hyades is happening to me, she thought angrily. I am missing a toe! My toes look like swollen fingers! I am way too low to the ground. She thought back to the parchment paper with the words Warning, Curse and Frog came to mind...
