Description
MV Manitoulin is a freighter originally built in 1991 as the Trelsi in Croatia. Originally a Danish-registered chemical tanker the ship would serve until 2013.
In 2013-2014 she was purchased by Lower Lakes Towing Ltd and was sent to China where the ship was cut in half and a new bow was added to make her a self unloader for great lakes service. The ship has been serving regularly on the lakes since 2015.
