Description

shy mermaid noises

Here is mermaid Rina! Just a timid mermaid who enjoys going up to get fireflies so she can watch them glow in the deeper waters.

Her 'top' can be removed, since it's more of a big membrane rather than individual scales. She always wears that little pointy shell on her head.

She's a beauty ^^

A removable top that's attached her as a membrane, kinda weird though.

Would've made more sense that she found a top floating in the ocean one day and decided to put it on.

Maybe even after seeing a human girl wearing a similar top. ^^;

Thank you! It's more like, how some animals shed their skin, except it's not a necessity for her. Those specific parts of her body may regrow the scales once she removes the 'top'!

Maybe to distract predators? Maybe.

As in predator bites into loose membrane, it tears off and mermaid swims away, while predator has a (sticky?) membrane in their mouth to deal with. ^^;
