TRON: Fragment - Fan Film Script — Description
This is a fan film script I created a while ago while I was down in Orlando. Now, before you read, expecting there to be Disc Wars and lightcycles, I'm going to go ahead and tell you this: There is none of that in this script. And I'll explain why.

When it comes to fan films, most of them focus too much on one area, namely the most iconic things in the film, and not enough on others, which often deals with characters. For example, name one "Star Wars" fan film that doesn't have a lightsaber fight or some sort of fight scene. When it comes to "TRON" fan films, most of them focus on the fighting, lightcycles and being "on the Grid." But to me, I think we've gotten enough about the Grid, but not enough about the real world outside the Grid and the characters who deal with it. Long story short: "TRON" is not just about being on the Grid, being involved in Lightcycle chases and Disc Wars. It's much more than that.

So, I decided to compose this script. This was written before I got to see any of the extra features on the Blu-Ray, such as "The Next Day" video and the additional short material such as the Dillenger chat and the news broadcast interview with Alan Bradley. But there are two primary reasons why I did this script:
1. to deal more with the human side of the TRON universe. In this case, it's a story about a son who wants to get out of his father's shadow, despite his father's attempts to keep him in.
2. To incorporate elements from the "TRON 2.0" video game into the film timeline, showing that though the game may not be canon to the film's events, that it shouldn't be ignored as a source of potential reference material (meaning it may not fit the film's universe, but with what is set up with "The Next Day" and the Dillenger conversation, I don't see why not reusing and tweaking some ideas to from the game to be used for the next film isn't possible. For example, with the Dillenger conversation, it sounds like Dillenger Systems may be planning to do what fCon did in the game: a hostile takeover of Encom from inside the company and inside the computer world).

Now, I have long since decided this iteration of the character may not work for the film, and that Jet Bradley should be more of a Han Solo to Sam Flynn's Luke Skywalker. But this version is something that can be done on a very limited budget. Honestly, I believe that Jet Bradley should be included in the next film, and this script shows how its possible.

I would also like to thank feralkin [ [link] ], for allowing the use of the character of Angela Bradley. She created this amazing piece of art [ [link] ] featuring the unique character, her take being that the Bradleys would have had a daughter (when I first saw the picture and read the story, I pictured her as sort of being a younger sister to Jet). In fact, she even did a short fiction piece about the character [[link] ] that I recommend. It slightly changes the scenes with Sam Flynn after the Encom OS/12 stunt he pulls in the film, but its still a great read.

And BTW, I had to use the TRON 2.0 image of Jet from the game because apparently, DA wouldn't allow me to upload the PDF file without one. But honestly, I don't think for another TRON film, should Jet be included, he would look anything like he did in the game.

I hope you enjoy it. End of Line.
