Storm — Description
Amenii’s gaze moved back up to the ceiling as another thunder clap rumbled through their apartment. Beside her Nera’s response was to let out a soft rumble of her own, before rolling onto her back, oblivious of the storm raging outside. How she did it Amenii did not know, but the storms never seemed to bother her.
Living in city central the weather was always an uncertainty, trying to maintain several distinct climates all around the central hub wreaked havoc upon the air was always fluxing. Tonight though, it had settled on rain and storm as the elements let loose their fury. Another boom caused Amenii to cringe as she pressed her back to Nera’s warm chest. The soft breathing of her lover faltered and a second later a massive paw came out of the dark to grab her.

The first few nights she had spent with Nera had been nights of terror, Nera would roll over nearly smothering her, or she would seem to sense there was prey nearby and start bighting in her sleep. Her size alone was something that took Amenii the longest to get used to, as a single one of Nera’s hands could envelop her head with ease.

This time as the paw latched on to the back of her neck, lifting her through the air and depositing her between Nera’s breasts, she simply blew out a breath and did her best to relax. In the darkness, Nera’s teeth winked ivory white in a field of shadows. Her eyes glowed an unnerving redish orange in the light from the last strike, before the too vanished becoming onyx pebbles in a darkened face.

‘You’re up late.’ Nera said as way of greeting. ‘Can’t sleep?’

Amenii shook her head, just as another bolt stuck with a crackling boom that reverberated thought the room. Instinctively Amenii buried her face into Nera’s neck, her hands digging into the soft flesh of the hyena’s bosom.

‘Hey, easy there – you’re going to pull my fur out.’

‘Sorry.’ Amenii spoke, her voice muffled as she refused to lift her head from Nera’s chest.

‘It’s okay, it’s just a little rain.’ Nera’s hand moved to run down Amenii’s back, caressing her ears as she did so. Nera had never asked why she was afraid of storms and for that Amenii was grateful, that was a piece of her past she tied not to dwell on.

‘It’s the noise.’ She half lied. ‘I can hear everything out there.’

Nera’s hand never broke its repetitive motion, stroke, rest, repeat. Stroke, rest, repeat. After a few seconds her pattern shifted.

‘I have an idea.’ Nera spoke, arching herself as she did so. With one free hand she rolled Amenii over and prying her cleavage apart to make a trench, worked her in between her ample breasts. Then, with great care rolled her breasts back and gave them a quick shake to settle them.

All around her the world had become a wave of fur pressing in around her. With her long ears flattened it was impossible to hear anything save for the slow rhythmic thumping of her lover’s heart. Looking up, she could just see the end of Nera’s grinning maw, as she bent down to lick the top her head.

‘Now go to sleep.’ Nera whispered, her chest vibrating with the words. ‘And think no more of the storm out there, you’ll be safe here, with me.’

Closing her eyes, Amenii let herself drift off into the world of warmth, fur, and the deep rumble of her lovers purring.
