It seemed like a typical day when Alex found a packet of cigarettes on the sidewalk and a lighter right beside it. The box appeared to be brand new. It was open and only one of the cigarettes was missing. He looked around for the owner but no one else was in sight. If he just left the cigarettes there soon they would be too damaged to be used so he took the box and the lighter with him.

Alex had never smoked before but he let his curiosity get the best of him. He wondered what it would be like to smoke. Knowing there was only one way to find out, he took out one of the cigarettes, put it in his mouth, and lit the other end. When he breathed out his first puff of smoke, the wind caught it and blew it right back in his face.

Instead of coughing, he felt dizzy. Then he experienced a ringing in his ears. After that, the changes began. His skin became yellow like most Simpsons characters and his hair turned gray. He looked less like a human being and more like a cartoon character.

All of his clothes turned green. His pants merged and rose to his knees forming a skirt, his socks became panty hose, and green earrings appeared on his ears completing the look. A slight heel appeared on his shoes which made them more suited to a work environment.

Alex was entranced by the smoke. He just wanted more. The smoke keep his mind occupied so he did not notice the changes happening to him. His body gained a more feminine appearance until he, or she, was completely female.

A ring of smoke encircled Alex. It was far more smoke than could come from one cigarette. A quick glance at the box confirmed that the other cigarettes remained until. The smoke continued to grow until the entire world around him was hidden from his sight.

Just when Alex thought she could not take it anymore, the smoke cleared, the dizziness stopped, and the ringing could no longer be heard. As she looked around, she knew she was in the world of the Simpson. She identified the character she had become as Edna Krabappel, a teacher at Springfield Elementary. The school was only a short distance away so that was where she would go.

Alex, in the role of Edna, finished her cigarette. Then she put the rest of the cigarettes and her lighter away and entered the school. Most likely she would have to face Bart Simpson and his lack of desire to learn. This was not going to be a typical day.
