“It’s done!” Kyle laughed as he held up his newest invention.
At ten, it was not an exaggeration to say that Kyle Jones was a child prodigy, or even a genius. Possessing a photographic mind, he was skilled at science, math and engineering. His teachers kept insisting on putting him forward in class, but he continued to insist on remaining with his friends, even choosing to flunk tests that he could easily pass when he thought he would be passed on. He seemed happy where he was and his parents decided he could excel as an adult too if he wanted to, and allowed him to stay with his friends.
His intelligence had an effect at home as well, as it caused tension between Kyle and his older sister Jenny who resented his intelligence.
