More than one person here has suggested that I work on drawing eyes, so I decided to draw one in detail to practice. It's the first time I've drawn one like this actually. I think it turned out okay for my first time.
The whites of the eye are a lot more white in the actual drawing. I love you too, scanner.As always, comments/feedback are always appreciated.
Graphite on 5.5" x 8.5" slightly textured paper.

For your first time, this is pretty stellar. Really. The only problem I have with the eye itself is the lashes; they seem too stiff, in a way, especially at the ends. Next time, try flicking your pencil up a bit when you get to the ends to give it a finer point.

I really like this eye practice! The only tips I can give you is keep building up your layers and make sure to get the darks in there. But really, it's great!

Well, good job on capturing the detail the lashes really look perfect. next time you might want to try a less textured paper next time you try something so detailed, it would as a sharpness that would make his image really pop. It is a really nice study of an eye though but if you would want to make a slightly more storytelling image of an eye you could try getting a picture of an eye with emotion or even just including the eyebrow could add a little more interest.

Thanks! This one wasn't too bad, but yeah it is hard to draw realisticly. The smudging for me was okay, I didn't have too much difficulty with it. Yeah, I find textured paper a bit better for smudgine. My fingers got all dirty

I just rub furiously with my fingers/tissue and hope it turns out okay xD I heard that Qtips work too, though I haven't tried myself yet.
