Work in Progress - Jackal — Description
A little something I've been excited to work on. A certain Ionic44 rolled out with a full story for his Sarah 3.5, and it has me inspired to work on robots. This robot, in particular, code name "Jackal". Currently, anyways. I have a lot in the works for this one, but we'll see how it goes.
I'll be using this model to practice my actual use of a paint brush via my tablet. If anyone has any hints on shading, please, oh please, let me have them!

A little backstory on the Jackal line, and this particular model.

The Jackal line is originally a remnant of wars long done, not only used for combat, but translations and security detail for foreign dignitaries as well. After the decades of change, and the lack of need for such tools, most units were destroyed, others were repurposed to any number of uses from construction, automated factory lines, and even such works as prostitution for certain clientele - with upgrades, of course.

This particular unit, who's number I have written, but can't remember, was a unit built specifically for assassination. All programs uploaded involve hand to hand combat, the weapon array is strictly for close quarters combat - twin c02 laser cutters affixed to the hands. Perfect for melting through flesh and steel alike like butter.
Because of the lack of ranged combat, her chassis was built to withstand long range attack from ballistics and energy prototype weapons. The armor itself is a carbon-steel alloy and covers most of the vial extremities, appendages, upper and lower body, and head. Beneath the armor of the torso lies a structure comprised of smart mesh and nanites. Although soft to the touch, the mesh material predicts impacts and hardens. Any damage that happens to be taken from special high velocity impact is rapidly repaired by the nanites beneath the smart mesh. The nanites as well are capable of self-repair, or if they are beyond repair, are cannibalized by the others for parts.
Her particular set of servos and motors were developed for the fastest movement possible. An upgraded power plant just to keep up with the extra movement speed and weapon array that heavily drains the onboard fuel cells.
Her head is made of 14 gauge thick carbon-steel alloy, an even mixture of thickness for strength, this protects vital processing units well and isn't so heavy as to inhibit movement speed. Her face is little more than a set of holographic projectors that project any images across the head. Images can be scanned, or even created by the unit for use at any moment.
This particular model prefers using frightening visages projected when in range of her target.
More on the structure of this model later.

As far as the unit and her 'syche', well, I've figured on it some, but mostly I figure, after taking substantial damage, the program got dodgy and the unit decided that she just enjoys the violence. She wen't rogue, started being able to make her own decisions, writing her own coding. This antiquated piece of technology was the target of a massive orchestrated hunt for her head, considered extremely dangerous.
After thirty five years of no leads, she was presumed destroyed or out of commission and the hunt was called off.
She's been out there since, taking jobs to satisfy what can only be referred to as her blood lust, and sometimes just killing at will.
