Splice Contest Entry - X613 — Description
Subject X613 was the pride of the government's Bio-Weapons Division. Nothing like it had ever been attempted in the branch's history. The Creature's DNA was a perfect blend of earth's most resilient predators, including: Hammer Head Shark, Bat, Cheetah, Praying Mantis, and Scorpion.

X613 possessed flight, incredible speed, brute strength, armored skin, and unexpected regenerative properties. The Creature's structural perfection was surpassed only by it's sheer aggression.

Uncle Sam wanted me to create the most vicious killing machine the world had ever seen, and I gave it to them. Of Course no great achievement in science comes without certain risks.

On May 25, 2010, subject X613 broke free of it's cloning chamber two days before it's scheduled “birth”. The Neural up-link implanted in it's skull to control the beast, proved... less then effective. As did the guard's weapons.

In the process of X613's escape, it killed a total of 11 scientists and 23 guards. Not a bad demonstration really, though the squawking generals who funded my research failed to appreciate the achievement, instead fixating on minor details like “control.”

A plan for re-acquiring X613 is still in the works. Though we hope to locate and contain the subject before it reaches civilian populations. The inevitable collateral damage X613 will cause if it reaches a populated area will no doubt make funding more difficult for X614...
