Description

A small showcase/tutorial for character renders in Blender c:

I feel like I could have added more detail, but then it would be so many parts again!

Very interesting! Poses make such a big difference when presenting a character, and it's great to finally see a tutorial about it  Thank you for making this!

This was a really interesting read! And the model looks great! I love seeing the process ☺️ and the iterations you've gone through for the composition. The final renders were really nice. I hope as I get better with blender I'll be able to give more specific comments rather than "looks pretty! ✨" πŸ˜„

Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed reading about the process and that the final version looks good <3

I can't wait to see your 3D artwork in the future :D

well, you know... as a person who never makes renders/uses lights in blender, the more details and more parts would have been helpful. but! the quick steps overview is really great, don't get me wrong : )

Well! If you're really interested I could definitely go into more detail some day :3

Skipping the artsy parts and focusing on the technical sides of rendering and lights would probably help.

but the artsy side is more important. i'm sure there's bunches of lighting tutorials and stuff. but making the characters look good. that's something else : )

i'm gonna share this page with my art group.

Ah, I see! I'm not sure which parts of the process that would be though.. I'll just need to make the next one more detailed overall ^^

Though, I'm sure all of this has tutorials already, like you said, and they probably explain things better. Ah well, it was fun to put together at least xD

And thank you so much <3 I hope it's gonna be useful to someone!

oh hey, what settings do you use for sculpting? like with the sculpt tools.

i was playing with nordsculpt.com and had a lot of fun; it came out really smooth and good looking.

'but i can do this in blender!' i said. so today i did, just a play-around with a quad sphere. and it looked janky :/ i tried turning on dyntopo... that did some weird crap to stuff that i don't understand.
