OK, well, not entirely a random choice for #critmas 2023 from the Gingerbread Gang! I liked the thumbnail!
For a stock image, this is a really fun texture - good find!
There’s always a tradeoff between showing more and giving context, and giving fine detail. Here you’ve gone further to the detail than i might have done for a stock image, even though the æsthetics are divine! But using this may be a little tricky if people want to make a circle. Maybe there wasn’t a circle originally, maybe it was a warrior’s kilt, and after he was kilt, a cruel murder crime, his clothing rusted. Riviting story eh? Welll, rust is red, especially without colour management in the browser, or so i’ve read. Er red.
OK, enough of the puns and the murder story. You can make the image pop more by increasing the contrast so there’s black in it, and it’ll be more saturated. I like that it’s not oversharp, though, as that makes stock images harder to process (can you tell i run a microstock company?)
I do like the size/resolution for sure. But i’d really want the chooped-off rivets to be complete

I am all about that rust and grunge, as a quick gander at my stock folders will show.
The whole object is indeed a circle. And large. It's a cover over a WWII-era gun/cannon emplacement up in the mountains around the city. IIRC the smaller rivets in that photo are about 2cm across, if that helps give some idea of scale. Unless I climbed a tree or had a drone there was no way I could get the entire thing in frame, so I opted for a more close-up view.
As a general rule I don't do any editing to my stock images, aside from the occasional crop if my foot was in frame or something like that. I figure the people who use them are fully capable of making all the adjustments they want on their own.
