This is so incredibly cute. I love how despite being so intelligent, Charles is such a puppy dog with big soft eyes and gentle manners who needs them just as much as they need him

O think Charles is just plain amazed to have friends. He was kind of a loner with his nose in books and research. And he just loves having a group that actually cares about him.

No. I have only seen the movie. I was going to read the first book but then I saw in the blurb that they 'met the Holy Ghost' and I didn't like that idea on SOOOO many levels. So I didn't read.

I can't tell you the context of the scene without spoiling a pretty big part of the story, but they don't really meet the Holy Ghost.

I have a pretty strict policy about supernatural things. I don't do them. (the 'ghost ship' is five seconds and easily skippable) So when I read that I was very disappointed. But you made it better!

Yeah, Mr. Bobo knows Darwin better than anyone and knows that he's having trouble with this. He doesn't consider Darwin his boss or 'master' anymore but he would still be a friend.
