MLP Headcanon: Pretty Boi — Description

FINALLY— after YEARS of workshopping I have finally made a Thorax design I am happy with.
This gorgeous bug horse was in DESPERATE need of a redesign because while I understood their vision… it didn’t work out well imo.

Notes about Thorax.
He’s based on 3 different bugs; The Rainbow Scarab, Jewel Beetles, and the Madagascan Sunset Moth.
Thorax uses he/him or they/them, and is intersex
In my headcanon since Chrysalis used to be a Crystal pony, unreformed changelings often resemble cloudy or unpolished gemstones in their carapaces- while Reformed changelings resemble bright gemstones and reflect that Crystal Heritage back.
Crystal Ponies and changelings alike are tied to love, love is what gives Changelings their sustenance and even their own ability to fly or use magic- all except for changeling leaders like Thorax and Chrysalis, Chrysalis was the first changeling and so it would take a massive amount of love (and therapy) for her to even TEMPORARILY reform. Thorax however became a changeling King, and essentially created the same sort of love feedback loop amongst the changelings that the Crystal Heart makes in the Empire. This is also why Thorax was so drawn there.
