This picture almost cost me a ticket!

I was driving back home from Redwood City along the lake when I saw something moving by the shore. I suspected it was deer, so I stopped by the side of road, ran to get as close as I could to the fence (it's a wildlife reserve), and took a few shots.

A policeman was waiting by the car. He asked me what my excuse was for parking at an 'emergency only' roadside. I told him that I was researching deer eating patterns and this was important for my work, so it's kind of an emergency. He didn't buy it and gave me a written warning. As long as I don't have to pay, he can keep warning!
