So this is what I ended up with! I'm still not sure I'm entirely happy with it. I realize I was unforgivably lazy and uncreative with her jewelry (I was originally going to give her some jewelry around her waist, too, but then decided against it at the last minute). There are lots of other issues with it, too. But! On the whole, it's kind of fun, right?

I like how she came out looking a little older, like maybe she's had some work done. ;> I thought that was fairly in line with the pinup models of the 50s and 60s.

Though I loved her sitting pose in the original sketch, as it turns out, snakes don't actually bend that way! (I mean, they'd basically be folding their spines in half backwards.) I wasn't sure it would be clear, either, that that pose was predicated on the top part of her tail being sort of leg-like, with knees. So up she went! I think it still works.

I based her design heavily on Calliophis bivirgatus, the Blue Malaysian coral snake , because it let me paint lots of blue, my favorite color. ;>

Eventually, I'll upload a version without all her jewelry on. It's on a separate layer, but I've got to fix some of the shadows underneath. Hope this suits in the meantime!
