no matter how long it's been. Casey's inability to truly express himself, came from a dark and miserable place, when he still a kid, unable to defend himself, but whenever he did, he'd be berated and trampled for trying to "Fight back" this gave him the idea that nobody cares about what he genuinely thinks, and so, hides his pain through an optimistic and agreeable persona. so that way people would never find out about the sorrow he actually feels deep inside...he thinks they'll make fun of him if they did...
just like all the others...

nope, as you can see from the description, Casey lived a life where he was told to do EVERYTHING he's told, and made him feel worthless, so felt like he needed to hide his pain from others.
plus, That's just the pajamas he wore as a kid, stripes are kind of his aesthetic, along with some of my other characters.
