No Mercy — Description
Ayyy so i finally read The Apprentice's Quest (still haven't read Bramblestar's Storm nor Dawn of the Clans tho)

It was okay, they brought in some good characters and a somewhat interesting plot (though it reminded me a lot of the journey in The Fourth Apprentice, which is funny because they even reference it in the book). I really liked Alderpaw too, even though they tried a bit too hard to make him "relatable" imo.

Can't say too much about Darktail yet, since I'm assuming I'll have to keep reading to understand the fandom's hype behind him.

Anyways, here's a scene from the book: Darktail finds Alderpaw speaking with Mistfeather, a former SkyClan warrior. Mistfeather then challenges Darktail to a fight and (being malnourished and fatigued) loses...badly.
I may not have enjoyed the book as much as I'd wanted to, but I did enjoy reading this scene. I don't have the exact quote, but I remember it describing Mistfeather being defeated, how his breathing got ragged and laboured and how he shrank to the ground, completely spent and at the mercy of Darktail.
/shudders what a feeling of helplessness that must've been.
