Description I've created this tutorial due to popular demand. I hope it helps in more ways than one!

Hmmm... seems I forgot to highlight the 'Wink/RazzX' there.... at any rate it's beside the button for the final transform.

FULL VIEW NEEDED IN ORDER TO READ THE TUTORIAL.

This is amazing! Thank you! Argh, I just wish I'd figured this out sooner - you have no idea how long I've spent trying to manipulate the position of something when I could have just been using PX. =P (Razz)

Nice Info Tom, I've used post transforms for quite a while. I've always used the "I wonder what would happen if I did this?" approach, lol
I was wondering, Is there a way to activate post transforms for scripts? I haven't found any info on it so far (other than this tutorial).

CabinTomCabinTom In reply to FracFx [2007-10-04 22:21:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes there is! The difficulty is that you can't translate, rotate, or scale the post transform... at least as far as I know. If you want an example of it, check out the linear disc script in my gallery.

Very nice presentation Tom Clap I love the flame you got here too :D (Big Grin)
I just remember a question regarding post transforms. When I open an old flame that I had created using post transforms the post transform is deactivated for all triangles. If I want to edit the flame I have to re-activate px for every transform and this can be boring if the flame has many transforms. Do you know if there is a short cut to do it?

Unfortunately, I don't. I've dealt with that problem a few times too.

Probably we have to live with it. I just thought I'd ask :D (Big Grin)

Once again, I've got to thank you a bunch for this tutorial. I finally understand how fractalists get the one effect-I usually call it rotating, but it's not the usual rotating obviously. You see it a lot with the Technica scripts. *looks at contest entries* In fact, *live2b 's entry, A Different Perspective has the same type of rotation I'm talking about. I've always wondered how that's done and now I know. Thanks again! :D (Big Grin)

Among other new abilities, of course, but that's the main thing.

Never mind!

Good tutorial! Thank you. I never found I couldn't manipulate other transforms with the PX enabled, but maybe I never tried!

Seems to be working for me... maybe it's taking a long time to load (it's a rather large image)

I got it later. I had almost 300 tabs open in my browser, and that had a lot to do with it. Unfortunately, when I closed and reopened it, it hadn't kept track. :( (Sad) So now I have to go through my history and figure out what I had been looking at. I'm trying to do too much.

Are you using Firefox? If so I believe the "Session Fix" extension might be of use to you... I think that's what it's called...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

PatGoltzPatGoltz In reply to CabinTom [2007-07-25 10:13:27 +0000 UTC]

I am indeed using Firefox. The "session fix" is what didn't work, unless there's something else I'm not aware of. Usually it keeps track of my tabs. Maybe the reason was that I had 300 tabs open! LOL

CabinTomCabinTom In reply to PatGoltz [2007-07-26 00:45:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, 300 tabs seems to be quite a lot for a small extension to handle. I still can't seem to figure out why on earth you'd need than many though... ??

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

PatGoltzPatGoltz In reply to CabinTom [2007-07-26 06:11:18 +0000 UTC]

What happens is that I open a tab, don't have time to deal with what's in it, and it stays, and they add up over a period of days.

LOL

I do think 300 is a record, though. The tab list has been a godsend.

You probably shouldn't get a StumbleUpon account then. I've found so many cool sites with that... but sometimes I probably should be doing productive things.

PatGoltzPatGoltz In reply to CabinTom [2007-07-27 13:41:19 +0000 UTC]

What's StumbleUpon? I stumble upon all kinds of things, so I don't need any help with that! rofl

CabinTomCabinTom In reply to PatGoltz [2007-07-27 18:16:27 +0000 UTC]

It's an extension that'll bring you to random websites recommended by other users (these websites are categorized in so that only things your interested in will appear).
