Cryptid Life Cycle — Description

Just an idea, what if we have made mistake of believing that single specie is actually multiple monster species, depending of the different appearance and behavior of her age.
Just like the number of know dinosaur species has decreased resently, when the archelogist realized that many "different species" are actually single specie that keeps growing and changing as they age.

No idea, what I do with this idea. It feels too "fantasy" to fit on my New Mordor setting.
Edit: I expected like 3 likes. But with thus much attention, this deserves not to hidden on scraps.
