WoC Races - Insergs — Description

After silence, here comes another of Cesferan races.

Hi to the insect race from Sindirrana

Name inserg is taken from how insergs call themself. It sounds more like yn'zzark, with very buzzy sounds. But due differences in languages it ended up among most of races as inserg. Or insect people.

Their homeland is Sindirrana - Eastern and western Inser

They have firm alliance with savaggans

Insergian nature is to live in crowds. "Strength is in numbers"

They are great constructers, to they build their towns manly from sand and cement (each town has underground complex)

They have clan hives counting up to 50-60 members. Ruler of clan hive is queen.

There's no central ruler for whole country, but they do have concile of clans, which decides matter of bigger scale.

Size if inserg is up to 140cm for females and 120cm for males. Queen is usually much bigger and heftier than any other insergs. Biggest known queen was two meters tall.

Insergs do have dark chitin exoskeleton, but color can vary into grayish or browns. Females are bigger with red markings and longer thorn on tail (females are usually best clan fighters).

Hive mentality: They do distinguish individuals, but in same time have high sense for society. Groups work together on building clan hive. Each clan hive has a queen which only can reproduce. She has a king mate. Actually usually 3-4 kings (queens have long lifespan). Queen doesn't care for offsprings at all, they are assigned to inserg pair or group that wants (or needs, if clan feels that certain part of hive is weak) to raise them. Each clan has group of soldiers, collectors, craftsmans, healers etc. There's no such a thing as "family" in true bloodline meaning. It's more of brother-and-sisters-in-arms or master-apprentices logic.

Usually inserg that left hive dies quickly. It's rare (but possible) to meet inserg which left hive and incorporated into other races society.

Queen cannot give birth to another queen. Only regular male and famale inserg from two different clans together can give birth to new hive queen. But it is considered heresy and high treason to do such a thing without request of actual queen. Usually when queen feels old, she picks herself who shall procreate her successor (if there's a new queen born without acknowledge of actual hive queen, young one can fight to defeat the old one and take her place, but it usually leads to hive wars). If pair who shall conceive queen gives birth to a male, male becomes king and is send to some distant hive to be partner to a queen (note: not sure about this, but it seems like a way to prevent too much inbreeding and gene limitation).

Inserg lifespan is 20 years. They reach adulthood and become valid member of hive in age of 5 years. Queen can live up to 60-80 years.
