Study for character development:
The command bridge team of the CWSF 43000 "Barbara" (Galileo Class) spacecraft, Starfleet 44 (Special unit, subordinated directly to the Confederation Security Council; not linked to any Federation.)

As a rapid deployment unit, Starfleet 44, unlike the other Starfleets of the Confederacy, is permanently on active service. And that's why a large part of its crew members are cyborgs, just like Captain Lettam; or Admiral Aspasia Samson, the Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet.
Sometimes, there are family ties that are stronger than blood ties. Victoria Lettam and her crew are among those examples.
