Okay, a quick explanation. Like any kid in this modern world, my mom would warn us about STRANGERS and how they would kidnap us etc. - a not-unreasonable warning.

What made the whole thing silly was that said kidnappers always went around in dark clothes, in a beat-up van with no windows, or dark tinted windows. What made it even sillier was the fact that SO MANY MOTHERS from my generation (and probably others) gave their kids this same warning. It was a bizarre motherly meme that seemingly arose from nothing, yet was eerily identical from mother to mother.

I don't even know where it came from. I can't recall ever hearing about any famous child-napper who drove around in a creepy rusted out econoline. In fact, most cases in REAL LIFE involve family or close family friends. Most kids are smart enough to STAY THE HELL AWAY from creepy guys in rusty vans.

So no, I'm making light of child abduction. I'm just poking a bit of fun at the ridiculous nonsense that fear creates.
