July entry - IP Pageant — Description
This, um... this is something I like to wear whenever it's cold. I've been gradually embellishing it, with little flowers and things... the cute little ones that grow through the snow in spring. They're partly embroidered, partly added on with fabric paint... this has been mostly trial-and-error, so some of them are kind of messy. I'm trying to work on a scarf to go with it, but... I think Buckoe wants more attention. It's hard to work on something with a cat on your face.

This may be a bit of a literal interpretation of the theme, but it just seemed like a very Yaotzin-like thing to wear. He tends to try his best to look less scary in his downtime, and wearing symbols of spring seems like a fairly good way to do so. Also, he has a certain fondness for tiny little things, flowers in particular. Jebediah showed him how to embroider, and Sharpclaw probably has a fairly large supply of fabric paint stashed away somewhere.
Yaotzin can't wear pants all the way down, the two joints in his legs tend to either stretch the fabric out or cause it to rub against his ankles. His hooves aren't entirely without nerve endings, and they get cold. His solution: fuzzy socks. He had to stitch rubber pads onto the bottoms of the socks so he wasn't constantly slipping, and he's cut little holes for his dewclaws (or whatever the mini-toes are called on ungulates), but this keeps his hooves warm. It also tends to drastically lower his intimidation factor; fuzzy socks and flower-covered PJs are hardly scary, even on a guy who looks like a demon.

I am very sorry for the lateness. In short, life attacked me with allergies, and steroids/antihistamines do not agree with me.
This month's (or last month's) theme was flora, and the bonus was embellishments. I'm hoping the embroidery/painting counts for the bonus?
