battle chasers... — Description
This is actually a really cool battle for me over at ....

This week the theme was battle chasers, and the guest judge is none other than Joe Mad himself!!

first... a quick story......

I was lucky enough to meet Joe Mad in New York a few years back. Like many a struggling artist I waited in a line for hours with my portfolio in hand hoping to get a little advice from one of my idols.... Joe was there promoting his Darksiders Game and I wasn't even sure he'd take a look at my stuff. When I asked him if he could take a peak he looked back at the line up of hundreds that were waiting to see him and get an autograph and hesitantly said yes although I would "have to be quick."

Well quick turned into ten or so minutes of him going through my art (way more than I thought he'd spend) and gave me some real honest criticism. He told me what he liked that I was doing... and YES he spend a little more time on what he didn't... lol And in those ten minutes he changed the way I draw, and the way I think of drawing. It was one of the coolest moments in my artistic life and I still see the influence of that talk in my work. And when I walked away I was beyond grateful at how when everyone else was "really busy" with "no time to look at it right now", Joe made his fans wait, and gave me ten minutes...

.............. So anyways, I was pretty sure I wanted to stick to pencils on this one. It's what I wanna do, and it's what I wanna be judge on. I had originally planned to put closer shots of Garrison and Knolan beside Monika, but thought it was too crowded towards the end and she didn't stand out anymore. Plus I really like the look of Calibretto coming out of the shadows behind her.

Anyhooo... comments are appreciated
