The Sumatran striped rabbit, also known as the Sumatran short-eared rabbit or just the Sumatran rabbit (Nesolagus netscheri) is one of only two striped rabbit species, and arguably the most endangered rabbit in the world. They are also one of the most rarely seen, helped by the fact they live in dense rainforests and are primarily nocturnal - to the point where no rabbits were spotted at all between 1972 and 2000, the local population does not even have a name for them, and the IUCN has classified them as Data Deficient.
Been a while since I drew a seldom seen species! So have a striped bunny This one was a bit of a challenge due to few and not all that great photos of the rabbit, which obviously didn't match the pose I had in mind... But that's how you learn and improve
