Together again. Forever... — Description
Alright... so since I've made people cry & have even managed to depress myself all over again with my heart wrenching depictions of some of the tragic events from the SW novel 'Sacrifice', I've taken a small break from the uber depressing and have instead chosen to illustrate a more uplifting and elating moment in the EU. That of Luke Skywalker & Mara Jades first kiss!!! I decided that since I'd depicted their last kiss *sniff* I better counter act it by illustrating their first Once again this is done in a comic book style and I am very very very pleased with how it has turned out!!!

Now I love Mr. Zahn, don't get me wrong, but his description (or perhaps lack of it *hee hee*) of this long awaited moment in his book 'Vision of the Future' just didn't do it for me. I mean seriously after how long these two characters have circled each other and the powerful connection they gained while fighting those sentinels, which might I add ultimately resulted in the most unorthodox marriage proposal I've ever heard of!( It literally made my jaw drop in shock and blurt out "What?!" while I was reading it and then made me beam from ear to ear) Naturally you would think that the depiction of their first kiss would be something powerful and momentous-something you'd write home about!...But alas after ten years of circling, sarcasm, and indisputable tension all the attention this moment receives is one simple sentence and I quote: VotF pg.506 "They loosened their grips on each other, just slightly...and standing together in the cold water, their lips came together in a kiss.".........just a Kiss! I think you mean THE kiss-the one everyone (or at least me) had been waiting for since Mara's character was first introduced!!! Sheesh!! *Ha Ha* I might be completely alone in my point of view on the execution of this very anticlimactic moment between my two favorite SW characters but at least now I've gotten it off my chest *sigh* then beaming

So now that I've had a few years to think about it and have matured (slightly) in my thinking I've come to the conclusion that Zahn must have left it simple so that we the creative fans and artists could imagine for ourselves just how we wanted their first kiss to look. So naturally I've taken my 'vision' of what could have happened in that one sentence and have created this deserving (I think) and some what dare I say 'hot & bothered' intense ensemble that I think gives Han a Leia's first smooch a serious run for their credits!!!!

I sincerely pray to the maker that no one is offended by this little rendition thinking it may be to over the top or perhaps a bit racy for the SW universe. I don't think it is but you never know... I've just always felt that there would be more passion and raw emotion present in this moment. Hopefully you all agree!!! Please Please leave comments & feedback, it is much appreciated. Thanks
