Longing — Description
This is my 'Bird is the Word' contest entry [link]

Species: olive-backed forest robin
Gender: Male
Word: Longing
Concept: I attempted to illustrate that all species long for those they cannot have. It's a universal feeling. Now I have no idea if these birds are even capable of tears but it was the only way I could think to drive home the meaning

So, this is my first ever piece drawn with my spankin' new Wacom tablet(pen & touch for those interested) and although I can't yet do 'smooth' paintings, I actually prefer this over a more realistic version so...it kinda worked in my favour.
