Butterscotch is one of the first elements of harmony in equestria, being the wielder of kindness. her elemental artifact is her head scarf.

Butterscotch lived in early equestria where there was much divergence between pegasus, unicorns and earth ponies. butterscotch lived with the pegasus who were an early formation of military in the pegasus society. but butterscotch was sweet to the bone and hated fighting. she often went head to head with commander Hurricane on ideals and in the end Butterscotch was driven from her home in the clouds. Butterscotch couldn't change the minds of those who didnt want to change.

On the ground she befriended a fellow Pegasus Minty(g3) and the two became best friends, traveling from neutral zone to neutral zone handing of sweets to the foals, singing loud and proud songs of better days and holding impromptu festivals wherever they went.

Butterscotch's words and activism would reach her old home in the clouds and cause a tear in the pegasus army between the cold hearted pegasus who agreed with Commander Hurricane and those who wanted to seek a kinder future by Private Pansy.
