Three Wolf Moon — Description

You may remember how when I did a reference sheet of my friend Luna's persona, I nervously joked that I shamefully didn't know when her birthday was. But now, I do know, and knowing is half the battle! Happy birthday u goober! Everybody please go over to her YouTube channel, subscribe, and tell her Ava sent ya! You might even catch me in the live chats of her gaming streams, relentlessly bullying one of my best and oldest friends. It's okay, I'm showing her my love now through my art, so it totally all balances out in a cosmic sense.
Design notes, I knew from the outset that Lana's birthday gift was gonna have two themes: witchy shit and excuses to make fun of Luna for being furry trash. I sorta started with the profile of her howling with the wolves at the moon and just threw as many easter eggs around that as I could think of. I mostly pulled from the more famous archaeological finds on the paleolithic iceberg, because those mysteries have always embodied the witchy aesthetic more than anything in my mind. Of course, most modern witchcraft is based on medieval Christian interpretations of ancient Greek cultic practices, so I had to throw a bit of Classical flourish in there too. I kinda dig the combo, ngl. I could easily see some early Roman priestess stumbling into one of these much more ancient caves and converting them into a shrine. I can also see Luna tucked away in such a rock crevice, just kinda vibing and probably making strange noises like the gremlin she pretends she isn't.
