Shellos Family Collage — Description

The Shellos family was originally supposed to debut in Gen III. In battle screenshots, they had unique palettes, head and back designs. In a later leak, they had the palette of the West Sea variant. Shellos had a design combining both final variants, while Gastrodon kept its design from Gen III. Fan art recreations are included.

Front and back sprites for beta Shellos & Gastrodon were found in the 2006 march-august source leak for Diamond and Pearl. Shellos' back sprite looked the same, but its front sprite, as well as Gastrodon's, now resembled East Sea Shellos. Gastrodon again kept its Gen III design for its back sprite.

According to Gastrodon's Pokedex, it had a different design long ago. Speculative fan art of this is included.
