Clearing the ruins of Cape Town of the Cabal forces in late 2058 was a bloody and brutal, close quarters nightmare. With US forces, stretched thin and occupied by numerous brush wars and peacekeeping operations, the Brazilian marines and commandoes were bearing the brunt of the fighting, enjoing, however, the clear skies due to US provided aerospace superiority and support. On several occasions, the Brasilians were supported by an unknown, rogue operators unit of unconfirmed alliegance and composition. One member of that unit, probably the leader, was positively indenified by Brasilian Army Information Centre as Lt Colonel Anemy Rothart, a former CO of NSA Division 10, who was considered MIA since the official end of the Great Corporate War in 2056. Standing orders from joint US - Brazilian Command read "Stand Clear. Maintain Contact. Do Not Engage".
