Description
Anni is trying out her soon-to-be new horse for the first time!
She is not entirely sure about that yet.
Story:
Anni was tired.
Not the normal kind of tired, but a bone-deep kind.
Who knew that a group of ten 8 to 12-year-olds could be so demanding?
They never seemed to grow tired of her tales from Aldergate, even if she just described the menu of the cafeteria or the arrangement of the stables.
So she was very happy when she finally had a free day and was planning on doing something with Beddi, but then Nat caught her when she was walking towards the stables.
So now here she was, not on Bedivere but on Je suis confusion, aka Conny.
And her first thought was: "Oh boy. This is definitely higher than usual."
Also, the mare seemed not as focused as Beddi and less responsive to her aids and ...
"Hello? Earth to Anni?"
"Uncle Tarek!"
Suddenly, he had pulled up next to her, seated on his own horse, Chili.
He just smiled at her and asked: "Everything alright? You seemed kinda nervous and distracted, which is a bit unlike you."
She was unwilling ot admit her real problem here, so she just shrugged. "Just a bit tired from all the work of last week. I'll be fine."
Her uncle hummed and turned towards Nat, who had joined them as well and was leading them into the woods now.
At the end of the ride, Anni was getting Conny to listen to her aids a bit better, but she was still unsure about this.
With Beddi getting along had been instant.
"Did you have fun?" started Nat the conversation when they left the meadow to go have tea in the main house.
"Mhm? Oh yeah. It was a very nice round. The forest is pretty quiet and the lake is really nice."
Anni left it hanging there because she was not really in the mood for a conversation.
But it seemed like Nat had something important to say that she really needed to get off her chest.
"You know, being open is very important in life, especially in riding. If you are not open to your horse, then how can you expect them to be open with you?"
Ouch, well, maybe she was more obvious in her problems with Conny than she thought.
