An Old Story... — Description

Cult of the Awakened

Long ago a cult erupted in population, originally founded underground, they emerged above and became a huge threat. Stealing young sprouts and lovebeans, no one knew the true goal of this group, but many were terrified and hid their children as best they could. Very few were spare and any that disappeared were never seen again. With every passing day a member would gather the citizens around yelling, "The awakened one is coming, the true god of gods, speaker of whispers and all knowing eye. Prepare yourselves for a new god and may you grovel for mercy as the wrath will make even the strongest fall!"

Once again, time passes and nothing happened. Though screams and chanting could be heard from underground, no one did anything out of fear for unnecessary violence. But what could they be planning? Meanwhile down below, the cult had procured the "prefect" sprout. After so many sacrifices and rejections the corrupted eather had found a vessel they believed worthy and one that could handle such corruption. Now a puppet to the darkness, the eather surfaced and began to tear apart the town.

Only an hour after its release, the town was smoldering and empty. Many had run and those that didn't perished. As the sprout began to move forward onto its next victims, a great sage perfaunt appeared. Holding the sprout down using its magic. The faunt then used a seal and hid away the corrupted monster within the depths of the sprouts soul, hopefully to never awaken again. This concealing of the corruption will definitely have its side effects, but it will be safer for everyone if the corruption stay within the sprout instead of free to claim another vessel in years to come...

What happened to the sprout? No one is exactly sure...
