Corrupted beast/Miniboss — Description
Adventurescapes concept.

I wanted a monstrous pet for one of the setting's main antagonists, a sorceress who uses her magic to control and mutate beasts and insects. Like Jabba's Ranor, I wanted a big, scary monstrosity that would put the heroes in dire straits when they had to face off against it! Coming up with a design that I liked, however, has been pretty difficult on this one. I've explored the idea of a huge tarantula-centipede hybrid, a gargantuan spider with a human face, something like an assassin bug with human arms... none of it seemed quite right though. Then a friend of mine showed me a video about carnivorous caterpillars that live in Hawaii and it just clicked!
