The Prince of Riddles

The Riddler

Full Name: Edward "Nygma" Nashton
NickName: Ed Nygma

Other Names: “E. Nigma” “The Count Of Conundrums” “The Prince Of Puzzles” And “The King Of Quizzes.”
Edward Naston, an egocentric individual, frequently engages in self-praise and produces his work single-handedly. He exhibits perfectionist tendencies, demanding minimal interference from his performers and striving for smooth execution. During his childhood, Naston aspired to build his creations, such as an amusement park, and garner appreciation for them. However, his alcoholic and abusive adopted father dismissed him, claiming he lacked "creative vision." Disheartened, he developed an obsession with media, particularly television game shows. Additionally, Riddler grew up in Thomas Wayne's orphanage, which suffered from underfunding due to corruption siphoning off its endowment. He holds a grudge against the Wayne family, which inspired him to become "Gotham's original costumed criminal." Operating years before Batman emerged, Riddler unmasked the truth about Gotham City's upper class through his cryptic puzzles, leading to the creation of Batman, who eventually saved the city from Riddler's intricate puzzles. Nashton's fascination with riddles and proving his intellectual prowess grew into an obsession. He pursued a career as a police consultant, eventually becoming the apparent leader of the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD)'s Cybercrime unit. During this time, he adopted the alias "Enigma" before ultimately evolving into the infamous supervillain known as the Riddler.
