The Lizard

Alias: Dr. Curt Connors

Abilities: Sharp teeth and claws, super strength, Genius Intellect

Inspired from the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde tale, Curt Connors was a kind biologist at Oscorp Industries/ loving husband and father who was part of a group that dedicated their life's work and become a benefit to mankind, by finding a cure to the entire world.

They called the Project Cross-Species, genetically altered humans that have been somewhat (varies by person) turned into numerous creatures, respectively. These creatures have extremely enhanced abilities; abilities normal humans do not possess. A project that was founded by two scientist named Dr. Kara Stacy and Richard Parker as it was funded by Norman Osborn.

Though, the day that Richard and his wife, Mary, mysteriously went missing, Dr. Connors decided to totally shut down his work indefinitely. Using the remaining data from Richard and his son, Connors made a regenerative serum from lizard DNA and tested on his lab rat named fred in hope for a success in replicating a lost limbs or even improving the defective genes.

The experiment proved to be a successful as Fred has regrown an extra limbs. However, his boss; Dr. Ratha demanded to revive the Cross-species project and moved to the human trial by giving it to Norman's dying wife. But when Curtis refused, Ratha threaten him if he doesn't move to the human trial. Yet he's still refused, causing him to be fired. Dr. Ratha decides to use the serum at a Veterans Administration hospital, under the guise of a flu shot. Connors, desperate to impress, injects the formula in to himself instead. Nothing happens immediately, and Curt went home with his family. When he awakes, his limb has fully regrown.

Overjoyed to this successful experiment, he finally got his arm back, he immediately called Dr. Ratha for this ground-breaking news. Unfortunately, Martha realized that Connors was growing scales on his back and became worried about him. after running some tests Martha discovered that Connors' mind was becoming more reptilian as well. Desperate enough to prevent anything from happening, Connors tried to warn Ratha about the side effects but the scientist hears about Ratha's plan to inject the formula as a flu shot, and raced to intercept him. Along the way, Dr. Connors' arm, the one that regenerated, started to turn green and scaly. Just as he reaches the Williamsburg Bridge, he fully transforms into a giant, mutated man-lizard hybrid. Unable to control his alter ego, the "Lizard" flips cars over the side of the bridge, the occupants only to be saved by Spider-Man.

With a help from Eric, they managed to lure Lizard to the polar bear exhibit. Because reptiles are cold blooded, the cold temperature of the polar bear exhibit was able to slow Lizard down long enough for Spider-Man to pour the gene cleanser down his throat. This caused Lizard to transform back into a human.

The next day, Peter was fired from his internship at Curt Connors lab because he took pictures of Connors as the Lizard and sold them to the Daily Bugle. After the Lizard incident, Dr. Connors became depressed and discontinued most of the research he was doing at Empire State University. However, Dr. Connors had secretly recreating the Lizard serum as it's clear that the chemicals have deeply affected his mind, creating an obsession with his new abilities and making him see it as biological "perfection".

He continues further, experimenting on himself in an makeshift lab. Peter, who has come to suspect Connors might become the lizard again and confronts him in the sewers, barely escaping with his life, though Connors learns of Spider-Man's true identity as a result. Dr. Connors, as the Lizard, follows Peter Parker to his school. After ripping through the school to find him, the two finally engage in a battle. While Spider-Man's webs subdue the Lizard, they ultimately fail to do any harm.

After a quick battle, The Lizard team up with the Jackal to create a Cross-Species formula and releasing a gaseous cloud turning the human race into a various cross-species. So Spider Man must help Dr. Connors and find a cure for his mutation before it's too late.
