Harick Characters — Description
Another thing I haven't done in traditional illustration for a long time as well; characters for one of my scifi novel concepts based on my short story "Escape". Both of them are Haricks, one of the first aliens I designed. The one on the left is a young female named Kalessi who is part of the main group of characters in the story. She's the heart of the group and tries her best to keep good spirits up. She's also a very talented singer (Haricks are general good at singing due to their mouth and throat structure). The one of right is very experienced male named Ra'khan whose had half of his body replaced with cybernetics and is the leader/founder of a galactic power called the Collective. Though he does some antagonistic things, simply calling him a villain would be a poor representation of his character. Though Haricks mostly belong to the Collective, there are some separatists that formed colonies on worlds outside the Collective's territory. Kalessi is from one of those colonies and like most of her fellow colonists, she doesn't like Ra'kan. She does however acknowledges how strong he is and begrudgingly respects him for that (its a cultural thing for Haricks to admire those who are strong in mind, body, and will).
