Haha! To funny. The long king 2.....SUCKED! I mean I'm not trying to rant but , omg! I hate that movie! Simba is such a jerk that is out of character, kiara is justa stupid immature cub, it's very dissipointing how in the end simba is no longer king, and ugh! This movie is just so poorly written and predictable! I honestly have no idea how people like this movie. BUT TLK 1 is by far one of my favorite movies of all time. I respect others opinions, even if this movie is horrible. Even the lion king 1/2 was better in my opinion.

TLK 2 is Shakespearean like the first, though obviously with the happy ending, since it is Disney. The first was Hamlet, and the sequel is Romeo & Juliet. It's unexpected for a Disney film at the time to have antiheroes or antivillains, which is appreciated. It's also an interesting story where the villain is a parent, seeing how there is a conflict of loyalty for the child.
The animation, while not up there with the first, is still better than most of the other Disney DTV sequels. The character designs are mostly faithful and the backgrounds are nicely done. The design contrast of the Pridelanders and Outlanders is creative and clever, especially when the latter switches sides. The lighting is also really cool, such as the light shafts through darkness. Just a few animation errors here and there, but they're not really hurting the plot.
TLK 2 fixes some problems with the first, mainly with how female characters are handled. Kiara's the protagonist, Zira's the antagonist, Nala gets more screentime, and even Vitani has her key moments. Sarabi and Shenzi are dropped but it's a step-up to have four major females. TLK 2 also shows that the characters aren't all black-and-white; "good" people do have flaws, and "bad" people do have virtues. Simba wants to make his dad proud but believes that he has to rule just like him when he could never be him; Zira, for her violent and bloodthirsty nature, is a determined, charismatic, and capable leader, even more so than Scar. TLK 2 even gets points for bringing back most of the original actors, and the new ones perform their roles really well. Andy Dick, of all people, sounded tragic and sympathetic in his last scene!
The songs are catchy like "He Lives In You," "We Are One," and especially "My Lullaby." They can even rival their first movie counterparts if the cover and tribute videos are anything to go by. For me, the least favorite would be "Upendi," but it's still harmless and is just okay.
It is a decent, enjoyable film, at least when compared to other DTV sequels. It's easy to write it off as a poor follow-up to a cash cow franchise, but it really is not that bad if you think about it. But that's what I believe.

Same here with the sequels, some movies are better left alone. And my thoughts on All Dogs go to Heaven 2? I did not really care for it. The fact that Charlie stayed on earth in the end ruined the hole moral of the story in my opinion. But it has been a while since I saw it, but I remember it being very poor.

I'm not generally a Don Bluth fan, so I can't really compare the two sequels, but Red is an awesome villain!

I always loved Kiara and Kovu when I was a child, as much as I loved TLK2... Now I don't like this movie that much anymore, but it's still funny to think about it ^^.

I've found out that Nala's eye color is a big debate within this fandom. Personally, I think her eyes are a blueish green or turquoise because in the VHS movie they change between blue and green, but in the DVD and SP movies they are blue. The colors for TLK characters differ between these 3 versions I've noticed.

you just completely made her look like a villain like seriously she did care about Simba when he came back injured and Pumba caught him when he fell so she didn't really have a chance to pick him up besides he's twice her size I mean idk about you but there is no way on Earth I'd be able to support my Dad if he wasn't able to walk at all by himself I'd probably get a total of 3 feets because I'm 5'4 and he's 5'11 and weighs a hell of a lot more then I do.
Of course Kiara is selfish but then again think about it wasn't Simba? Simba didn't want to go back with Nala and fight Scar because he was happy in the oasis he had no desire to go back and be King. Hmmm sound familiar? Oh yeah his daughter who didn't want to be Queen!
And love can happen in a day I mean yeah she was serious with Kovu for like 2 or 3 days but think about Romeo and Juliet, depending on which version you read Romeo and Juliet ; fall in love, get married have sex and die, all in a period of 4 days. Love has no amount of time it can take months or it could take hours.
Is Kiara the smartest lioness ever? No, but she's not dumb either she's Simba's daughter and thats whats good about Simba's Pride, it was a father daughter movie I mean to be honest idk how much I would have liked a straight out Kopa story because I can't relate to it!

No sequel is ever as good as the first movie and rarely does it ever live up to the first. I mean the only good movies and sequels I can think of are Pirates of the Caribbean and StarWars (which their movie release order was a hot ass mess lol) but Kiara was designed to have the "pretty and spoiled" factor.
And it wasn't Kovu's fault that Simba brought him to the Outlands Kovu couldn't have possibly known what was waiting for them and Kovu did make an attempt at saving Simba but realistically a male lion going against even just 2 lionesses aren't good odds in the lions favor.
And we have no idea what kind of relationship Kiara and Simba had I mean to be fair I can relate to her because my Dad is super overprotective too which can get really annoying because when your a sheltered child and its your parents fault that they didn't give you a heads up of what the real world is like then you go crazy and just do what you want and hate having to listen to their shit at all but you still love that person no matter what. I don't live with my Dad and I don't talk to him everyday but that doesn't mean we don't have our good times or our fights like Simba and Kiara.
It annoyed me in SP however that we really don't see a lot of Nala and Kiara's relationship or if she trained Kiara to hunt because Simba seemed to be against the idea of putting his daughter in any kind of danger what so ever. WHICH brings up another good point, I firmly believe that if a kid is screw up its the fault of the parents which brings me back to paragraph 2, maybe if Simba had spent more time instilling some curiosity and leadership importance and ways then he did telling her what to do all the time she might have had a little more common sense and there would be less messes to clean up.
As far as her and Kovu go... I like Simba and Nala better but I wouldn't say their a bad couple I mean Kovu grew up getting shit from Zira all day and night pushing him because he was "the chosen one" which is a down right creepy thing to call anyone because it sounds cultish. But she would have done anything for power, Zira didn't care about Kovu she just needed a puppet to get her throne back. Which was Simba's problem; he has a daughter who will become Queen and she needs a King to continue a royal blood line and since no one knows what happens to Kopa (if he died, was killed, w.e) There needs to be a king of pride rock.
As far a prequel goes I mean it can go either really good or awful because it wont really ruin TLK1 but the story could be dumb but I'd like to see the art work if they do make it because it'll probably be really good and I'm also curious to see where Scar got his scar and what they were like as kids but idk Disney needs to go back to their old ways because lately everything they produce sucks

Yeah in Pirates the middle two were the worst but idk if you saw it but On Stranger Tides was freakin epic, it brought the spot light on Jack and not Willabeth (ur right Elizabeth started to become a fairy) and it brought Black Beard who made Jones look like a pussy when he was only on screen for 10 seconds and Black Beard was bad ass and also Angelica, who did a great job form Penelope Cruz (I loved her and Johnny since they did Blow together) and she was funny and witty and a all around match for Jack because he's like "hmmm I kind of want to do her but I also want to hide from her" the entire movie. Haha it was pretty good.
yeah Simba definitely got annoying once he became a parent but thats what happens to most people when they become parents they're life is for that kid. I mean Nala was better than Simba if you ask me because she maintained more of her old self then Simba did. Kiara probably got her clumsiness from Simba because even in the first movie Nala was able to outsmart and pin him all the time so it could be just because she's a cluts and Disney wanted to make her a cliche like freakin Bella Swan.
I actually like the outlanders, I mean they were crazy but it was kind of entertaining in a way like Zira was crazy and she was able to convince all these lionesses to stay with her when like you said they have no real reason to stay with her.
Dream Works is good but they slowed down a bit, I mean I liked Kung Fu Panda and Shrek was great I loved that movie, I always find myself quoting that movie because my friend sucks and singing so I'll always quote Shrek with the "Stop singing! No wonder you don't have any friends" line lmao but I can't do a Scottish accent to save my ass -_-
