.. Saving the Earth .. again .. — Description

.. The earth stopped and waited .. the life destroying asteroid 'Mark-Finglestein' Asteroid, identified twelve months earlier was close to earth, and there remained one chance left to survive.
So far everything the scientists, engineers and military men had tried had failed. Three different attempts to blow the asteroid off course had failed. The attempt to fly a remote controlled spaceship into the thing had failed. And the hare-brained scheme to send a team of drillers to split the thing had failed when the spaceship had blown up on the launch pad.
So it was down to the Justice League and Superman, Supergirl and Wonder Women, the most powerful beings in space, had flown into battle; the earth's population held their breath and waited.
Then they saw the bright flash in the sky, and then felt a shockwave, that seemed like a minor earthquake around the world, and then came the announcement .. Success .. the asteroid had been obliterated.
In space, Diana looked around as the flash subsided. She saw her colleagues moving away from her, their seemingly lifeless bodies not moving. She flew over to them and thankfully saw them both shake their heads as they emerged from a brief period of unconsciousness. It was then she realised both were naked and a quick look down showed she was too.
Their power, the force of the explosion had blown their uniforms from them; all they had on was their boots and ripped cloaks.
"This would be some picture .." thought Diana to herself, just as the monitors on the earth switched to a local satellite cam, and her magnificent naked figure came into view. The crowds round the world gasped and cheered in equal measure.
