Description
Because players tended to hunt down items like a Deck-of-Many-Things in my campaigns AND I had a card in them that provided a map of some other place, I had a few one-off maps lying around AND an empty grid on which to draw them on the fly. Since the Deedra entity was composed of 6561 worlds, I had no worries about whipping these things out in an ad-lib fashion. I could always re-use them later AND players who messed around with Decks too often usually didn't go anywhere except their graves. These maps would have been handed out in the Deedra1 campaign, but not in the form drawn here. I would have translated them to a blank sheet with no grid and then put the scale marker on them somewhere. In later games I would have shifted from the "# steps over" notation up top to the actual Deedran number of that world. Since the players in the first campaign started on the first world, '3 steps over' meant Deedra4 or Deedra||. '7 steps over' meant Deedra8 or Deedra |0-.
If you pay any attention to the other maps, you'll note that the right-side map looks a lot like the Deedra6 campaign map. It is... up to a point.
1. I screwed up the numbering and called it Deedra|-0. Oops. The players never noticed so I didn't care for long.
2. The cities listed on the map aren't on the later campaign map. That wasn't a screw up. The later campaign occurs after a bombardment period. Those cities were destroyed. Read the Hollyanne founding story (to appear soon) to see how these stories connect. It wasn't likely the players would ever notice this, but I left it as an easter egg just in case.
Note the scale differences. The land mass described on the left map is much larger.

The map grid is actually from a sky map overlay from one of my big star charts. I shouldn't have messed with the scale on it like I did in the drawing since the grid is an actual official type map projection taking spheres to planes. if you ever want to draw a map on a ball, use an official grid instead of hand-sketching it. You can always convert at the last moment for something the players might actually be able to get in-game.
