Description
MARVEL RELOADED- a series of redesigned Marvel characters in my vision.
Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider
Founding member of the Midnight Suns.
Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist, became the first documented modern incarnation of the Ghost Rider after a fateful encounter with the demon Mephisto. Raised in the Quentin Carnival by Crash Simpson and later adopted by him, Blaze exhibited remarkable skill as a motorcycle performer. However, tragedy struck when Simpson was diagnosed with a fatal illness. Desperate to save the man who had become his father, Blaze made a pact with Mephisto, exchanging his soul for Simpson’s life. Though Crash’s fate was sealed in an accident rather than illness, the deal bound Johnny to an ancient curse.
Mephisto fused Blaze’s soul with that of Zarathos, a vengeful spirit of fire. On nights when evil was near, Blaze’s flesh would ignite, leaving behind a fiery skull, his mortal frame transformed into a supernatural entity known as the Ghost Rider. He rode the highways on his infernal motorcycle, compelled to punish sinners with his signature Penance Stare—a power that forces the wicked to endure the suffering they have inflicted upon others.
Over the years, Johnny battled numerous supernatural threats, including the rogue demon Blackheart, the vampire lord Lilith, and even his own master, Mephisto. He learned that he was part of a lineage of Spirits of Vengeance dating back centuries, with his predecessor, Noble Kale, having walked a similar path. His struggle to control Zarathos led to frequent clashes with other heroes, including Doctor Strange.
At times, Blaze attempted to rid himself of the Ghost Rider’s curse, but fate would always pull him back into the cycle of vengeance. His brother, Danny Ketch, later emerged as another Ghost Rider, revealing that their bloodline was intrinsically tied to the Spirit of Vengeance. Blaze eventually accepted his role, becoming an experienced warrior against supernatural evils and even serving as the King of Hell for a time.
Though his story is filled with tragedy, Johnny Blaze remains a relentless force against darkness, riding through the night with his chain in hand, ensuring that those who spread evil never escape justice.
This is original work by me from sketch to ink to digital coloring with no AI used at all. Many hours were put into this and I enjoyed every part of it.
