Brodie — Description

Quick little sketch of Brodie from The Bartender books series.
It was interesting to straight up try DRAWING her, since normally I Frankenstein an image from several photos to make a cover. (Usually using my own face as a reference--but not my hair, since I'm a brunette and don't want to try a home-bleaching and possibly damage my already thinning hair.) I've gotten better at photo manipulation, but it's still a skill that could use some improvement; but hey, it's not like I ever took classes for it! This is aaaalllll trial and error. Self-taught artist here. (And let me tell you, back in the day there WERE classes. And books on it.)
Folks, you literally don't need AI to make art. Photo manipulation is still a SKILL, and there are a lot of free assets out there you can use to make cool stuff. I don't talk about it much (because people shit on it), but I personally use the GIMP, and it remains a free and open-source program, and it does a lot of things that Photoshop can do. (Been using it since 2007.) But if that's not your jam, there are a lot of (free) programs that have come about since. I've heard good things about Krita. And I've used FireAlpaca in the past.
Anyways, getting off my soapbox...
It was nice to sketch something just for me for funsies.
